Skärgårds Savor Coffee
Advancing Sustainable Nordic–Africa Value Chains
Skärgårds Savor Coffee represents a practical and scalable example of inclusive trade between Africa and the Nordic region.
Founded in Finland with roots in Uganda, the brand sources high-altitude 100% Arabica coffee from the slopes of Mount Elgon and roasts it in a clean Nordic style for the European market. This value-chain model aligns with the objectives of the European Union’s sustainability framework, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
By combining responsible sourcing with value addition in the Nordic market, Skärgårds Savor Coffee contributes to:
• SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
• SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
• Strengthening EU–Africa trade cooperation
• Promoting diaspora-led entrepreneurship
• Enhancing transparent and equitable cross-border value chains
As part of the Nordic–Africa Business Forum, Skärgårds Savor Coffee highlights how SMEs can function as bridges between regions — translating agricultural excellence into structured trade, investment opportunities, and long-term partnership models.
In this context, coffee becomes more than a commodity. It becomes a platform for sustainable commerce, cross-continental collaboration, and shared economic progress.
We welcome dialogue with policymakers, investors, trade institutions, cafés, restaurants, and distribution partners interested in advancing resilient and impact-driven Nordic–Africa partnerships.
